Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received His Sovereignty Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani. During the meeting, they discussed the latest political and security developments in Iraq and the region, the challenges of the current phase, government obligations, the role of provincial councils, and efforts to support and expedite stalled projects.
His Eminence commended the Iraqi government’s approach to regional and international developments, which has reinforced Iraq’s position and demonstrated its ability to assess events without direct involvement. H.E. also reaffirmed the need for heightened security and military preparedness in addressing the situation in Syria. Additionally, H.E. praised the ongoing security operations targeting ISIS terrorist hideouts in Iraq’s deserts and remote areas, emphasizing the importance of sustaining these efforts and enhancing intelligence operations to support them.
The discussion also highlighted the need to revitalize Iraq’s productive sectors—including agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology—to gradually reduce dependence on oil and mitigate the impact of its price fluctuations on the national budget.
Furthermore, H.E. welcomed the international and regional events hosted in Baghdad, stressing the importance of expanding their scope to benefit various sectors across Iraq.
H.E. emphasized the need to safeguard the stability achieved so far, calling on all parties to uphold their responsibilities in maintaining it.
