Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Iraq Stability and Development Enhancement During H.E.’s Dhi Qar Province Tour
At the end of the first day of Dhi Qar’s tour of Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a group of the province’s distinguished figures and professionals. In his address, His Eminence discussed the challenges Iraq has faced, the progress achieved, and future strategies to reinforce stability and development in the country.
H.E. emphasized that despite significant challenges, Iraq has swiftly overcome them and is now accumulating positive gains across multiple sectors. H.E. noted that the country has shifted from merely responding to terrorism to taking the initiative in confronting it, from sectarian clashes to inter-communal cooperation, and from ethnic and sectarian conflict to internal political competition.
Addressing external challenges, H.E. stressed the importance of adopting a balanced approach—neither underestimating nor exaggerating their impact. H.E. pointed to regional and international efforts aimed at ensuring Iraq’s political stability, recognizing its crucial role in maintaining broader regional security while emphasizing the need for vigilance and preparedness for any developments.
Furthermore, H.E. underscored the necessity of closely monitoring how the new U.S. administration engages with regional and Iraqi affairs, highlighting the importance of understanding its policies and their implications for Iraq.
On economic matters, H.E. addressed Iraq’s growing population alongside its oil-dependent economy, calling for the activation of other productive sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and technology. H.E. stressed the need for a societal approach to protect incoming capital and foster investor confidence.
H.E. also highlighted Iraq’s strong human potential in technology and information sciences, while acknowledging management challenges in various sectors. H.E. called for sending students abroad to study modern administrative sciences, operating newly built hospitals through public-private partnerships to attract expertise and train local personnel, and reforming school administration by implementing decentralized governance to ensure social justice and equitable opportunity distribution.
Concluding H.E.’s speech, H.E. reaffirmed support for an open-list electoral system to ensure clearer voter representation, called for aligning educational outputs with labor market needs, and advocated for youth empowerment through the expansion of productive industries, loan programs, and job opportunities. Additionally, H.E. reiterated the essential role of the Popular Mobilization Forces as a fundamental part of Iraq’s national defense structure.
These statements come as part of H.E.’s tour in Dhi Qar Province, aimed at listening to citizens’ concerns, understanding their aspirations, and fostering dialogue among Iraq’s diverse communities.
