Sayyid Al-Hakeem Praises Bashiqa Coexistence, Affirms Yazidi Community Support Against Terrorism

During a visit to Bashiqa in Nineveh Governorate, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a large gathering of Yazidi compatriots. His Eminence emphasized the shared values that unite all components of the nation in devotion to Allah. Acknowledging the severe hardships faced by the Yazidi community, including killings, abductions, and destruction inflicted by terrorist groups, H.E. reaffirmed that Islam is a religion of love and mercy. H.E. noted that Prophet Mohammed (peace and blessings be upon him) and Imam Ali (peace be upon him) consistently advocated for respecting the beliefs and identities of others while fostering inclusivity.
H.E. stressed that all Iraqi components have suffered from terrorism and highlighted that Shaheed Al-Mihrab (May Allah sanctify his soul) was among the first targets of extremist forces. H.E. urged the preservation of Bashiqa's diversity, describing it as a source of strength with its rich cultural and historical contributions to Iraqi society.
Expressing his joy at the reconstruction efforts in Bashiqa, H.E. commended the initiatives that have eradicated the remnants of terrorism, which once destabilized the region. H.E. affirmed that Iraq’s resilience lies in its people, reiterating full support for the Yazidi community both domestically and abroad, along with other groups that have endured similar tragedies.
H.E. also highlighted Iraq's current state of stability, which has made the country a safe haven for some neighboring nations, and expressed his hopes for peace across the region. Concluding his remarks, H.E. emphasized the importance of safeguarding the current achievements and transforming temporary stability into a lasting one by leveraging the Iraqi people’s potential and intellectual talents.
Renewing his respect for the sacrifices made by the Yazidis, H.E. voiced hope for the safe return of abducted Yazidi women and called for intensified efforts to achieve this noble goal.
