As part of his series of visits to Sulaymaniyah, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, paid tribute at the mausoleum of the late Mam Jalal Talabani, former President of the Republic of Iraq (may his soul rest in peace). This visit reflected His Eminence's profound respect for Mam Jalal, a revered Kurdish Iraqi leader and a symbol of national unity.
H.E. honored the late leader's legacy in resisting dictatorship and contributing to the establishment of Iraq’s new democratic system. H.E. described Mam Jalal as a towering figure in Iraq’s history and a steadfast advocate for unity.
H.E. noted that the visit was an opportunity to reflect on his long-standing relationship with the late leader and the historic ties with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), underscoring the importance of these bonds in fostering Iraq’s unity.
Highlighting the purpose of his visit to Sulaymaniyah and Halabja, H.E. illustrated the commitment to strengthening the Arab-Kurdish brotherhood. The visit also served as an opportunity to engage with PUK leadership, other political powers, social figures, and tribal leaders in the region.
H.E. acknowledged the significant developments in Iraq and the broader region, underscoring the need for dialogue and aligning visions among various political and societal powers.
In this context, H.E. pointed out the federal government’s commitment to ensuring salary payments in the Kurdistan Region, emphasizing that the challenges are administrative rather than political. H.E. further highlighted the ongoing cooperation between the federal and regional governments to resolve this issue and overcome all obstacles.
