Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Political System Legitimacy Closely Linked to Services
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with Dr. Mohammed Jameel Al-Mayahy, Governor of Wasit, along with his deputies, the head of the Provincial Council, Ali Salimoon Al-Shammari, members of parliament representing the province, and Provincial Council members. During the meeting, His Eminence reflected on the province's rich history, its prominent figures, and its intellectual and cultural contributions. H.E. expressed his delight in the successes achieved by the local government and encouraged continued efforts in development, reconstruction, and preserving the accomplishments already made.
H.E. emphasized that public aspirations will not be satisfied with current achievements, underlining the importance of keeping pace with demands and delivering services. H.E. stressed that the political system's legitimacy is largely tied to the quality of services provided. H.E. also noted that Iraq has overcome numerous challenges, including political, social, and security issues.
H.E. highlighted the growing expertise in financial management and project delivery during this phase. H.E. called for diversifying income sources, increasing the share allocated to provinces, and strengthening local governments by granting them their constitutional powers. Sayyid Al-Hakeem commended the ability of provincial administrations to implement projects, sometimes more effectively and quickly than ministries operating in the provinces. Additionally, H.E. praised the people of Wasit for their efforts in serving the pilgrims of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
