Sayyid Al-Hakeem Praises Imam Ali (PBUH) Brigade role to Ensure Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf‘s Security, Despite Public's Lack of Awareness Due to Its Deployment Locations

At the beginning of the second day of his visit to Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf , Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with the officers, ranks, and personnel of Imam Ali (PBUH) Combat Brigade. H.E. expressed his pride and appreciation for the sacrifices made by this brigade, especially the martyrs who gave their lives defending Islam and Iraq.
His Eminence commended the brigade's vital role in maintaining security in Al-Najaf Al-Ashraf, despite the public unawareness of their efforts due to the brigade’s deployment in remote areas. H.E. reminded everyone of the significance of the defensive jihad fatwa, which allowed Iraq to take the initiative in the fight against terrorism, even as some countries failed to protect Iraq despite having signed security agreements. While others reneged on their commitments to deliver weapons to Iraq as per formal contracts.
H.E. emphasized that the fatwa inspired thousands of young people to join the jihad, breaking the fear barrier, shifting the balance of power, and exposing the collaboration between the Ba'ath regime and terrorism. This fatwa ultimately led to the formation of the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), which has since been a cornerstone in defending Iraq’s security. H.E. also acknowledged the supportive stance of the Islamic Republic of Iran in helping Iraq combat ISIS. This partnership set in motion a successful effort to reclaim Iraqi land and liberate it from terrorist control.
H.E. concluded by reminding the brigade’s leaders and personnel of their responsibility to safeguard the values and significance of the banner under which they serve, understanding the importance of their mission and role.
