Sayyid Al-Hakeem Emphasizes National Census Significance to Advance Country’s Development, Reconstruction
To review preparations for the general census, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, visited the Iraqi Ministry of Planning and met with Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Planning, Dr. Mohammed Tameem. His Eminence also toured the census operations room to assess its initial stages, reiterating the critical role of the census in shaping Iraq's development and reconstruction efforts.
H.E. stated that the census is not merely about counting and statistics; it serves as a comprehensive database reflecting the economic, social, health, and educational realities of Iraqi society. This data is essential for crafting both short-term and strategic plans. H.E. urged support for the Ministry of Planning and related institutions to ensure the success of this initiative. Furthermore, H.E. called on media outlets and social, and cultural organizations to educate citizens on the importance of the census.
H.E. noted that Iraq has needed such a census for decades, stressing the importance of public participation and backing for the teams involved.
