Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Turkmen Are a Pillar of Our Iraqi Society

During the final stop of his visit to the Kurdistan Region, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a group of Turkmen brothers at the Turkmen House in Erbil, hosted by Mr. Mohammad Delshad, President of the Turkmen House. In his remarks, Sayyid Al-Hakeem stated, "The Turkmen are a fundamental pillar of our Iraqi society. Allah Almighty has blessed us with this diversity in nationality, sect, religion, region, and tribe to represent the Iraqi mosaic. The more we can positively and effectively harness this diversity, the better we can utilize Iraq's potential."
H.E. further added, "The greatest challenge is managing this diversity and how we can leverage it for the benefit of Iraq and its people. We should see the components of Iraq as bridges and links that connect Iraq to the world."
H.E. emphasized that Iraq is a country for all, where every component adds value to the Iraqi bouquet, enhancing its beauty and charm. H.E. expressed his pride in the Turkmen presence in Iraq, stressing the importance of ensuring that Turkmen people have proper opportunities and roles at both the federal and regional levels. H.E. also affirmed that the Turkmen community has the right to have broader and more significant representation in the federal government.
H.E. called for unity among Turkmen forces and for them to agree on a common project or path, enabling a unified Turkmen voice that would provide them with better representation in both parliament and government.
