Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Our Visit to Kurdistan Reflects the Strength of Arab-Kurdish Brotherhood

At the guesthouse of the late Haj Hadi Agha in Erbil, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with several  distinguished sheikhs and dignitaries from the Dzei tribe and other honored tribes. H.E. expressed his happiness at the visit, emphasizing that it reflects the strong brotherly bonds and positive sentiments held toward the people of Kurdistan, a tradition passed down from our ancestors and one that we are committed to passing on to future generations.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem recalled the long and rich history of cooperation between Arabs and Kurds, united in defending Iraq and supporting its just causes. H.E. pointed out that this is not a temporary or fleeting relationship but one deeply rooted over decades. In this context, H.E.  recalled the famous fatwa by our grandfather, Imam Sayyid Mohsen Al-Hakeem (may his soul rest in peace), forbidding the killing of Kurds, which played a key role in solidifying Arab-Kurdish relations.
H.E. reiterated the ongoing stability Iraq is experiencing on political, social, and security levels, stressing that it is our collective responsibility to preserve and strengthen this stability. H.E. also praised the success of the recent parliamentary elections in the Kurdistan Region, which received admiration and praise from the Arab, regional, and international communities for the high voter turnout and transparency. H.E. wished for the upcoming federal parliamentary elections to be held with the same care, wide participation, and integrity, leading to the formation of a representative and balanced parliament that reflects Iraq’s diverse society.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem acknowledged that the path of reconstruction and development is not easy, as it is filled with challenges and complexities. However, he emphasized that we must come together, converse, understand one another's circumstances, and unite in building our homeland. H.E. stressed that Iraq belongs to all Iraqis, and we are equal in rights and duties within this country.
