Sayyid Al-Hakeem Affirms Unions Democratic Society Key Pillar
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, hosted a direct dialogue at his office between the heads of Iraqi unions and associations and the parliamentary committee on labor and civil society, to discuss the Labor Union Law and bridge perspectives among all stakeholders to serve an important segment of Iraqi society.
His Eminence stressed the importance of involving unions in the drafting of laws that directly impact the groups they represent. H.E. noted that such laws require engagement, consultation, and input from relevant sectors, as these laws are service-oriented and free of political motives.
H.E. emphasized the vital role of unions and the need to support and empower them to express the concerns of their communities, affirming that unions are a foundational element of a democratic society and a crucial support of the political system alongside the executive and legislative branches.
