Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets with Anbar Sheikhs and Dignitaries, Stresses New Speaker’s Elections
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with a group of sheikhs and dignitaries from Anbar Province, extending his congratulations on the blessed occasion of the Prophet’s birthday. His Eminence noted that Iraq has seen significant developments, having faced numerous challenges, including sectarian, social, and security issues. H.E. emphasized that Iraq’s history, cultural heritage, and the resilience of its people have enabled the country to overcome these challenges.
H.E. pointed out that sectarianism is not rooted in society, as evidenced by the diversity within tribes, but is instead politically driven. H.E. called for leveraging Iraq's diversity to strengthen its ties with the world through effective management of this diversity, noting that terrorism often feeds on political disagreements and divisions among people.
H.E. affirmed that Iraq is currently experiencing unprecedented stability on the security, political, and social levels. He also highlighted the ongoing efforts to elect a new Speaker of Parliament and fill the vacancy in one of the three presidencies. H.E. urged the enhancement of this stability to make it permanent, adding that Iraq is now viewed by others with admiration for its progress across various fields.
Regarding the compensation issue, H.E. acknowledged that while some genuinely deserve compensation, others have exploited loopholes to obtain what is not rightfully theirs. H.E. suggested relying on community testimonies to quickly identify the true victims and expedite the process.
On the proposed amendment to the General Amnesty Law, H.E. emphasized that those involved in the shedding of innocent blood should not be included, and H.E. called for resolving this matter without political bargaining.
