Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Ba'athist regime responsible for Iraqi bloodshed both before and after 2003
From the holy city of Karbala, in Al-Husseiniya district, at the guesthouse of Sheikh Jassim Al-Hanoun Al-Huwaimidi, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with several sheikhs and dignitaries. H.E. recalled the moments of shared tears and sacrifices for Islam and Iraq, emphasizing that these sacrifices have resulted in the current freedom, including the pilgrimage to Imam Hussein (peace be upon him). H.E. stressed the importance of acknowledging the past without becoming mired in it.
H.E. pointed out the regional fears that accompanied the Iraqi experience post-2003, which caused delays and internal disruptions both security-wise and politically. H.E. affirmed that terrorism was surrounded and supported by a political agenda.
H.E. reiterated the importance of Iraq's three pillars: the blessed Religious Authority, the Iraqi tribes, and the Husseini rituals, describing them as the guiding compass and the source of inspiration for the nation through its religious authority and the passion and emotion provided by the rituals. H.E. highlighted the collaboration between terrorism and the Ba'athist regime, asserting that the Ba'athist regime was responsible for Iraqi bloodshed both before and after 2003. H.E. mentioned that the religious authority's fatwa for defensive jihad disrupted terrorist plans, raised morale, mobilized the nation, and thwarted the ISIL project.
H.E. called for leveraging the current stability and emphasized the importance of addressing any attempts to destabilize Iraq. H.E. stressed the need to preserve the sanctity of the city and praised the progress in reconstruction and development in the holy province of Karbala and the Al-Husseiniya district.
