Sayyid Al-Hakeem to King Abdullah: The current phase witnesses unprecedented popular satisfaction with the government for the first time in two decades
As part of his regional tour, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with His Majesty King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, exchanging congratulations on the arrival of the blessed month of Ramadan. The developments in bilateral relations between Baghdad and Amman and the crisis in Gaza dominated the overall discussion with His Majesty.
His Eminence praised the role played by the sisterly Jordan in delivering aid to the Palestinian people despite the blockade imposed by Israel on the Gaza Strip, calling for the implementation of the Security Council resolution to halt the war on Gaza. H.E. emphasized with His Majesty the importance of respecting international legitimacy and its institutions, urging the international community to press for the resolution's implementation.
H.E. discussed with King Abdullah the bilateral relations between Iraq and Jordan, emphasizing the importance of developing them on all levels. H.E. pointed out that the stability witnessed in Iraq reflects positively on the region's stability, while the region suffers from any disturbance in the Iraqi arena, whether in terms of security or politics, as proven by experience.
H.E. explained the nature of the service efforts provided by the Iraqi government under the leadership of Prime Minister Al-Sudani, noting that the current period witnesses an unprecedented popular satisfaction for the first time in two decades. People have begun to feel the impact of projects and stability on their daily lives.
H.E. stressed the importance of ending the missions of the international coalition and transitioning to bilateral relations with some countries based on mutual interests and respect for sovereignty.
Regarding climate issues and challenges, H.E. called for a regional system to confront this challenge, tasked with exchanging experiences and consultations and developing solutions and treatments.
In terms of social challenges, H.E. assured King Abdullah that drugs are a scourge targeting our youth and future generations, requiring the establishment of a regional security system to address this challenge and curb trafficking and infiltration, in addition to exchanging information on how to treat drug users and reintegrate them into society.
