Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Iraq, His Excellency Mr. Ali Rıza GÜNEY on 21/3/2024, and discussed the evolving political landscape in Iraq and the broader region and explored avenues for advancing bilateral ties between Baghdad and Ankara to mutually benefit both nations. H.E. underscored the importance of cooperation and coordination in resolving outstanding issues to serve the interests of all parties and uphold Iraq's sovereignty over its entirety. Additionally, H.E. reiterated support for the government's endeavors in reconstruction, development, and law enforcement.
H.E. stated the crucial nature of the development road, emphasizing Turkey's pivotal role as a fundamental partner in this significant initiative within the realm of international trade. Furthermore, H.E. stressed the imperative for Iraq to receive its equitable share of water resources. Moreover, H.E. emphasized the importance of maintaining peaceful coexistence in Iraq's diverse provinces and the crucial role of social stability in sustaining current stability. H.E. also emphasized the need to transition the responsibilities of the international coalition to bilateral relations between Baghdad and certain coalition countries to safeguard the nation's sovereignty.
H.E. reiterated His appeal for an immediate cessation of hostilities in Gaza, the reconstruction of the region, and the provision of aid to displaced individuals.
