Sayyid Al-Hakeem congratulates Iraqi Police over founding anniversary, calls to grant them lands, adjust payrolls

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with Lieutenant General Abdulameer Al-Shimmari, the Minister of Interior, and extended congratulations and best wishes to him and, through him, to the dedicated personnel of the Ministry of Interior on the occasion of Iraqi Police Day. His Eminence lauded the commendable efforts of the ministry's officers and personnel in restoring security and paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of Iraq.
H.E. called for equitable treatment of Ministry of Interior personnel by adjusting the salary scale and increasing the basic salary. This would enable those transitioning into retirement to receive a pension that aligns with their civilian counterparts. Additionally, H.E. stressed the importance of providing suitable housing for all personnel as a fundamental right during their extensive service to the Iraqi state.
Moreover, H.E. stressed the necessity of modernizing the police force, reducing dependence on manual efforts, and adopting advanced electronic systems. H.E. also stressed the significance of diminishing the military presence in urban areas and replacing it with more intelligence-oriented approaches.
H.E. warned against the escalating issues of human trafficking and drug abuse, with a call for updated strategies to combat these pressing concerns. This involves targeting key figures involved in these harmful activities. Furthermore, H.E. underscored the importance of prioritizing community policing and empowering it to address social issues proactively, preventing them from reaching the judicial stage.
H.E. also called to focus more effort on departments that are directly engaged with citizens. It is known that The Ministry of Interior accompanies individuals from birth to departure. H.E. emphasized the significance of governance and modern applications to enhance the delivery of services.
