Sayyid Al-Hakeem calls for drug combat institutions’ integrality
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with the Parliamentary Committee for Combating Drugs and Psychoactive Substances, led by MP Adnan Al-Jahaishi on 23/10/2023, and discussed the developments of this phenomenon, ways to address it, and prevention measures. His Eminence emphasized the necessity of enacting the required legislation to combat this dangerous phenomenon, which is no less perilous than terrorism. It is essential to prioritize prevention alongside treatment.
H.E. called for synergized performance at the parliamentary, judicial, and executive levels and the involvement of local governments in the anti-drug efforts. H.E. stressed the importance of distinguishing between dealers and users, to ensure that prisons do not become places for breeding more drug traffickers. H.E. also highlighted that drug issues have regional and international implications, and called for integration and information exchange with neighboring countries and the global community.
