Sayyid Al-Hakeem: The West deals with double standards regarding the Palestinian issue, we are astonished by the fall of lofty principles like freedom of expression and human rights overnight
On the blessed Friday of 20/10/2023, in the guesthouse of Sheikh Abdul-Hussein Zuboon Al-Mohammedawi, in the presence of Sheikh Shallal Falah Al-Sayhood, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with a group of tribal sheiks and dignitaries from Al-Bu Mohammed tribes, as well as sheikhs and dignitaries from the Al-Jisr area. His Eminence reminisced with them about the long history that united them in the face of dictatorship and the construction of the modern state.
H.E. affirmed that the West's treatment of the Palestinian issue is marked by double standards in human rights and freedom of expression. H.E. pointed out that the West deals with the individual who set the holy Quran on fire as someone with an opinion while suppressing anyone who advocates for Palestine and calls for an end to the massacres.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem expressed his strong astonishment at the Western handling of the incident at Al-Mu’madni Hospital and how they complied with the Israeli narrative without any scrutiny. H.E. explained that the scale, nature, and incendiary and destructive intensity of the explosion clearly indicate the involvement of the occupation. H.E. affirmed that policies of cutting off water, food, and medicine are reminiscent of what Imam Hussein “PBUH” and his family went through in the tragedy of Karbala. These stances raise bewilderment on how all principles can fall overnight.
H.E. emphasized that victimization is a nuclear bomb, and the divine promise speaks of the encirclement of evil schemes around their makers. Destruction, aggression, and killing will eventually bring curses upon the perpetrators, whether sooner or later. H.E. clarified that the Supreme Religious Authority has outlined a path in dealing with the Palestinian issue, supporting its injustice and advocating for its rights, including establishing its state and showing solidarity with them.
The head of Al-Hikma National Movement stressed that the priorities of this stage speak of services, following the departure of security, political, and social challenges. H.E. emphasized the need to capitalize on financial abundance and strive to select local governments capable of monitoring performance and achieving project distribution fairness. H.E. also noted that current projects will lead to a qualitative leap in the service and infrastructure aspect.
H.E. also explained that Iraq today is different from the previous stage, having regained its regional and international status. H.E. stressed the importance of promoting positivity, leaving behind self-flagellation, and actively participating in elections.
