Sayyid Al-Hakeem calls to harness stability by enacting federal government, other governments laws
During his visit to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with Mr. Masoud Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Democratic Party on 9/10/2023, recalling their shared history in confronting dictatorship and building the modern Iraqi state.
H.E. discussed with Barzani the political developments in Iraq and the region, emphasizing the constitution as a reference for resolving outstanding issues. H.E. also called for harnessing the stability phase to enact important laws that would complete the political system's structure and define the relationship between local government, the regional government, and other local governments.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem highlighted the importance of making concessions for the sake of Iraq, emphasizing that past experiences have shown the need for an independent, secure, and stable Iraq. H.E. cited the era of terrorism that threatened everyone, and how unity was the most effective way to liberate the land and protect the country.
H.E. reiterated his support for Mr. Al-Sudani’s government, stressing the importance of maintaining political, social, economic, and security stability, noting that this would not have been achieved without the sacrifices of Iraqis from all backgrounds.
