Sayyid Al-Hakeem calls to raise awareness about autistic people, provide safe environment for social integration
At the Autism Children's Conference, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, commended the efforts of the organizers of the conference on 22/9/2023. His Eminence emphasized the importance of transitioning from security and political approaches to social and healthcare approaches. H.E. stressed that for a state to be strong, society must be healthy and thriving.
In the context of autism, H.E. delivered five messages for dealing with early autism cases, addressing family members of the affected individuals. H.E. emphasized the importance of providing them with informative and educational courses to handle this condition and methods of dealing with individuals with autism. H.E. also stressed the importance of establishing a regular and routine schedule for individuals with autism to avoid causing them anxiety and stress, and to address each case based on its unique characteristics and accompanying treatment.
In his second message to educational institutions, Sayyid Al-Hakeem called for creating an educational environment capable of accommodating individuals with autism and finding the necessary treatments for them. H.E. also highlighted the importance of scientific planning for treatment.
His Eminence’s third message was directed to civil society institutions, urging them to adopt awareness campaigns about the illness and methods of dealing with those affected. H.E. also called for the adoption of artificial intelligence in creating electronic applications that facilitate interaction with symptoms and integration into society, as well as the establishment of specialized treatment centers.
As for the fourth message, it was directed at society and the way to recognize the illness and provide opportunities for the integration of those affected.
In the fifth message, Sayyid Al-Hakeem called on relevant government authorities to create the necessary conditions and therapeutic environment, provide psychological treatment, finance research and educational centers specializing in autism, and benefit from the experiences of others and exchange knowledge in dealing with individuals with autism.
