Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Elections on schedule, National State Powers Alliance to strengthen Moderation and Centrism

In an extensive meeting with the candidates of the National State Powers’ Alliance, in the presence of Dr. Haider Al-Abadi, the head of the Alliance Leadership Council, as well as the heads of allied entities and their representatives. Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, illustrated that the NSPA represents the center of moderation and centrism in the political system by the recognition of all on 16/9/2023.
His Eminence stressed the significance of electoral diversity and political alliances in shaping ideologies, underlining the alliance's methodology as a social necessity at this stage for strengthening the state and its institutions.
H.E. affirmed that the reinforcement of moderate powers is the pathway to stability, which in turn paves the way for development, ultimately resulting in the provision of services and social welfare.
H.E. illustrated that Iraq currently stands at a crucial juncture, presenting a significant opportunity to internally and externally fortify and reassure the state.
H.E. also emphasized the importance of local elections as they validate the federal system in Iraq, especially in this instance, where local and parliamentary elections are being held together under one law. With the financial abundance allocated to the provinces in the triple budget, along with the presence of a strong and effective provincial council that elects a strong governor, a genuine opportunity will be created to deliver services and bring about significant changes in the provinces.
H.E. stressed focusing on services, considering the councils as service-oriented bodies that should stay away from political disputes. H.E. cautioned against making unrealistic promises that are difficult to fulfill and stressed the need for continuous communication with citizens both before and after winning elections. H.E. also called for openness to the new generations and addressing their aspirations and priorities.
H.E. also urged the promotion of hope, academic discourse, and an understanding of the needs and priorities of the provinces.
H.E. confirmed that the elections will take place as scheduled.
H.E. called for observation and field engagement, distancing from side conflicts, as everyone is either a winner or a contributor to someone else's victory.
H.E. warned against political funding in elections and called for documenting cases and creating a counter-public opinion against it.
