Sayyid Al-Hakeem stresses enhancing defense systems, adopt cutting-edge weaponry and advanced systems
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with His Excellency, Minister of Defense Mr. Thabet Al-Abbasi on 11/9/2023, and discussed the Iraqi defense system and its desired attributes.
His Eminence called to improve the Iraqi army on multiple fronts, including arming it with sophisticated weapons and equipment sourced from the global arena. H.E. stressed the significance of upgrading electronic systems within the Iraqi military establishment and underscored the necessity of appointing individuals to positions that suit their qualifications.
H.E. emphasized the imperative of ensuring that the military institution is comprised of competent personnel devoid of any personal biases. Additionally, H.E. called for addressing instances of corruption and any mishandling of the fighters' resources, should such issues arise.
Furthermore, H.E. pointed out that the current security threat necessitates a diversified approach to planning in collaboration with other security entities. The ISIS threat, in particular, seeks to exploit any security vulnerabilities, which underscores the need to fortify these weaknesses and sustain proactive military operations.
