Sayyid Al-Hakeem commemorates Al-Anfal Crime, calls to memorialize
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, recalled the crime of Al-Anfal and tweeted “Three and a half decades have passed, yet it was unable to erase the bitterness and pain of the Iraqi people or the human conscience of the Anfal Genocide, which caused 180,000 innocent Kurdish citizens to be killed at the hands of the defunct Iraqi dictatorship. A crime that still lives in our hearts. It speaks of the suffering of people who suffered from north to south to obtain their freedom and dignity. This requires holding on to the democratic path to prevent its repetition and the next generation from being exposed to the same suffering.
Salutations of honor to the martyrs of this painful genocide and similar genocides deserving of being commemorated and honoring their victims.”
