Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq’s against normalization, criminalizing law legislations
At our meeting with the delegation of the Young Arab Lawyers Organization visiting Iraq, which is made up of a group of Arab lawyers from various countries on 20/3/2023, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, welcomed them while wishing them a pleasant stay in their country of Iraq. His Eminence noted the nature of the legal mission and its social impact through supporting the oppressed and commended the role of the Organization, which transformed the profession from supporting the oppressed to supporting Arab inspiration and common issues and finding solutions for Governments and institutions.
H.E. reaffirmed his position in support of the Palestinian cause and the oppressed Palestinian people, stating that Iraq had criminalized normalization through a law initiated in Parliament and voted on by the representatives of the Iraqi people. H.E. stressed the importance of addressing the negative perception made by the media of Iraq, and that Iraq was rising from its repression and accumulating positives.
H.E. referred to the nature of the attack on Iraq on various agendas, including concerns about the democratic experience, Iraq's diversity and the roles of its components, and concern about the foreign presence in Iraq on the borders of neighboring States. stressing that all these concerns combined contributed to the complexity of the Iraqi landscape, noting also the nature of Iraqi diversity and reiterating His call for its management and for Iraqi components to be considered bridges towards the peoples and nations of the world. H.E. stressed that respecting privacy is the safest and shortest way to reach the country's comprehensive identity.
H.E. called on the organization's delegation to convey the impressions of admiration for Iraq to their countries and communities, noting the impact of the 25th Gulf Cup in Basra and how it has marketed Iraq, its experienced, and the generosity of its people in the right and true manner.
