Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Christians are a qualitative addition; we call for their immigrants’ voluntary return
While visiting several churches in the Capital, Baghdad: (Saint Peter and Saint Paul Church, St. George Chaldean Church, Alliance Evangelical Church, St. Joseph Syriac Church, the Cathedral of Our Lady of Flowers, and the Baptist Evangelical Church), on 25/12/202, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, reiterated his congratulations over the Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ “may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him”. H.E. also wished them a happy new year and a life filled with joy and goodness and reiterated several things, and it is that the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ is an opportunity for celebration and to follow the path of Christ in his high manners and his enlightened path. H.E. illustrated the importance of the combination of both messages of Jesus Christ “PBUH” and our Holy Prophet Mohammed “may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him”, which can be seen in mercy, and oh how much we need peace, passion, and mercy.
H.E. pointed out the challenges that faced Iraq, to mention some: terrorism and the political impasse, and said that Iraq has overcome these challenges due to the wisdom and steadfastness of its sons, where challenges turned into opportunities and crises into grants. H.E. reiterated his call for the voluntary return of Iraqi Christians who are abroad to help build their homeland and affirmed that his perception of the Christians is a qualitative addition that can’t be measured by numbers, but by how they enrich the Iraqi culture.
H.E. indicated how Islam perceived Jesus Christ and his pure mother Saint Virgin Mary “PBUH”, where the Holy Quran mentioned Jesus Christ on twenty-five occasions and Virgin Mary on thirty-four. Indicating the value of the method and the humanitarian impact that Jesus Christ “PBUH” had.
H.E. stressed supporting the government and stated that providing services and combating corruption are the basic starting points to accomplish achievements. H.E. also discussed Iraq’s hosting of the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup is a statement of Iraq’s stability and its return to the gathering of its gulf brothers and its affiliation with its regional neighbors.
