In the guest-place of Ubadah clan, the guest-place of the two sheiks, Adel AbdulWahid Al-A’sad Al-Abadi and Haider AbdulWahid Al-A’sad Al-Abadi, and in the presence of the leaders of some Iraqi clans on 4/6/2022, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met a genuine group of clan elders and political and social figures, where H.E. invited them to take the initiative to resolve the political crisis by communicating with all the political blocs and powers.
His Eminence said in his speech that the leaders of the Iraqi clans have an appreciable and respectable word, especially as they proceed in their initiative from the public interest and have the same distance from all political powers, also they are the leaders of society and hold a great social position, indicating that Iraq is undergoing an exceptional political circumstance due to the lack of balance produced by the recent elections, explaining that the last elections witnessed a special case where the lack of proportionality between the number of votes and the number of seats, which caused the absence of balance and produced the current political crisis.
His Eminence emphasized that the national majority represents a glimmer of hope for the people and protects the political system from being confronted with an angry public, provided that it is reassuring and for it to be so, two conditions must be met. The first is the preservation of the social balance by the representation of components. The second is granting the opposition the needed space for expression and supporting it with oversight and legislation. H.E. illustrated that there is no success for the majority unless there is a protected opposition that is able to perform its tasks of oversight and reform.
