Sayyid Al-Hakeem meets King Abdullah II, discusses Baghdad-Amman bilateral relations
During his visit to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Sayyid Al-Hakeem met with His Majesty King Abdullah II on 23/5/2022, and discussed with him ways to enhance bilateral ties between Iraq and the Kingdom at all levels. The two sides exchanged views on developments in the situation in Iraq and the region.
His Eminence and His Majesty King Abdullah stressed the need to rely on dialogue as the best way to solve crises, and the importance of stability and peace prevailing in the countries of the region so that they devote themselves to serving their people.
Regarding the developments in the Iraqi political situation, His Eminence said that the political crisis that the country is witnessing is due to the unbalanced results produced by the recent elections, indicating that this crisis, like previous crises, is possible to solve if there is a serious will for a solution and the higher national interest prevails over factional and personal interests.
Regarding the food security challenges facing the world and the region, H.E. called for joint cooperation among the countries of the region to overcome them, and the importance of investing in the capabilities and mutual experiences between the countries of the region.
