Sayyid Al-Hakeem Continues His Explanation of the Right to Prayer and Discusses Obstacles in His Lecture
As part of his lecture series on the "Epistle on Rights" by Imam Ali ibn Al-Hussein (PBUH), Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem continued his discussion on the right to prayer, the tenth right in the revered Epistle. In his latest lecture, H.E. Al-Hakeem reviewed the factors that encourage a believer to perform prayer, highlighting the necessity of submission to Allah and His role in motivating individuals to worship. H.E. also emphasized the importance of supplication in the life of a Muslim and the need for stability and security to facilitate the practice of prayer.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem pointed out that intellect is a fundamental component of performing prayer properly. H.E. stressed that the believer must be fully aware of what is being recited during this act of worship, noting that the strength and ability granted by Allah to the believers serve as a significant motivation to perform the prayer with sincerity and devotion.
Furthermore, H.E. discussed the obstacles that may hinder the performance of prayer, including the influence of Satan, who seeks to divert the believer from prayer through various means such as intoxicants and gambling. H.E. also explained that excessive immersion in worldly pursuits, particularly in business and wealth, could lead to neglecting prayer, citing Quranic verses urging believers to prioritize worship over worldly matters.
H.E. emphasized the need to avoid oppression and arrogance, clarifying that those who treat others unjustly or arrogantly cannot perform prayer as it should be. He referenced prophetic sayings that warn of the consequences of these behaviors in the life of a believer.
In conclusion, H.E. urged everyone to maintain sincerity in worship and to avoid anything that may hinder the proper performance of prayer.
