    Sayyid Al-Hakeem Discusses Strengthening Bilateral Ties, Lauds Madrid’s Support for Iraq with Spanish Ambassador

    His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, held a meeting with Her Excellency Ms. Alicia Rico Perez Del Pulgar, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Iraq, as part of H.E.’s continued outreach to diplomatic missions operating in the country.
    H.E. and the Ambassador exchanged perspectives on the latest developments in Iraq’s political scene and on the overall trajectory of bilateral relations between Baghdad and Madrid. H.E. expressed appreciation for Spain’s supportive stance toward Iraq and its backing of just causes across the region.
    H.E. pointed to the ongoing shifts within Iraq, particularly the positive signals emerging from the recent elections, including the Iraqi people’s strong commitment to the democratic and electoral process and to the principle of a peaceful transfer of power. H.E. emphasized the need to advance constitutional obligations within their specified timelines.
    H.E. also reaffirmed the importance of sustaining Iraq’s relations with states in the region and beyond, calling for deeper cooperation with the Kingdom of Spain and encouraging both sides to make full use of available opportunities to strengthen political, economic, and cultural partnership.
