Sayyid Al-Hakeem Meets Turkish Ambassador, Calls for Strengthening Bilateral Relations. Combating Terrorism, Extremism
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with Mr. Anil Bora Inan, the Turkish Ambassador to Baghdad, to discuss bilateral relations between Iraq and Turkey, as well as the latest political developments in Iraq and the region. The meeting also covered issues of mutual interest between the two countries.
During the meeting, Sayyid Al-Hakeem emphasized that confronting ISIS is a shared responsibility for all countries in the region, highlighting Iraq's leading experience in combating terrorism. H.E. also welcomed any regional efforts aimed at resolving the region's challenges, particularly the eradication of terrorism and extremism.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem called for activating partnership agreements between Iraq and Turkey in water management and agricultural development, emphasizing that cooperation in these areas would benefit both countries. H.E. further noted that diversifying Iraq's oil export routes positively contributes to strengthening the Iraqi economy.
Regarding bilateral relations, Sayyid Al-Hakeem reaffirmed Iraq's support for promoting peaceful coexistence and enhancing bilateral cooperation to serve the interests of both friendly nations. H.E. also noted that Iraq is currently experiencing stability in security, politics, and society, creating an opportunity to deepen bilateral relations with Turkey in all fields.
