Sayyid Al-Hakeem Highlights Challenges, Opportunities During Visit to Popular Mobilization Forces Basra Command
As part of the ongoing tour in Basra, His Eminence Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, visited the Popular Mobilization Forces Operations Command, where His Eminence met with several commanders and fighters, extending congratulations on the blessed birth anniversaries of the Pure Imams.
During the meeting, H.E. recalled the historic Shaaban uprising, emphasizing its pivotal role in overthrowing the former regime despite the heavy sacrifices made by the Iraqi people, including over 400,000 martyrs, some of whom were buried alive amid international silence. H.E. affirmed that this uprising laid the foundation for subsequent victories achieved by the Iraqi people.
H.E. noted that every challenge is accompanied by an opportunity, citing the challenge posed by ISIS and the subsequent religious edict by the Supreme Religious Authority, which led to the formation of the Popular Mobilization Forces, contributing to Iraq's protection and the preservation of its political system. H.E. explained that challenges recur over time, as do the opportunities that enable the nation to achieve victory and empowerment.
Concluding the discussion, H.E. urged overcoming fears despite sacrifices, emphasizing that the course of history follows cycles of victories and setbacks. H.E. also honored the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland.
