Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraqis Are Partners in Homeland United by National Unifying Identity

On the occasion of the blessed Christmas, commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ (peace be upon Him, our Prophet, and His family), Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, extended heartfelt greetings from the Cathedral of Our Lady of Salvation in Karrada to Christians in Iraq and around the world, as well as to all Iraqis.
H.E. stressed that Islam greatly honors Jesus Christ and the Virgin Mary (peace be upon them), highlighting Christianity's essential role in the continuum of divine messages and the deep connection between Islam and Christianity.
H.E. stressed that all Iraqis are united under a National Unifying Identity, encouraging the preservation of coexistence and drawing lessons from the teachings of Jesus Christ in fostering peace, love, compassion, cooperation, coexistence, and self-sacrifice for higher values and principles.
H.E. acknowledged the hardships faced by Iraqis, including the Christian community, who have endured the scourge of terrorism, such as the tragic attack on the Church of Our Lady of Salvation. H.E. renewed his call for the voluntary return of Christian Iraqis to their homeland and encouraged their participation in rebuilding Iraq.
Lastly, H.E. prayed for peace and security for the peoples of Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria—Muslims, Christians, and all other communities—wishing these nations stability, safety, and prosperity.
