Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Local Elections, important to read upcoming stage’s nature
In His Eminence’s meeting with the United States of America Ambassador to Baghdad, Her Excellency Ms. Alina L. Romanowski, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, explored the results of the presence of Iraq in the United Nations meetings, international and regional openness to Iraq, and following up on its political and security updates on 4/10/2023. His Eminence referred to the nature of the relationship between Baghdad and Washington, as well as the ways to strengthen them in what serves the interests of the two countries.
His Eminence called to maintain the meetings of the joint committees between both sides and illustrated that these meetings are enough to address challenges or converge views on some files. Moreover, H.E. reiterated the importance of the upcoming local elections, clarifying that these elections are crucial for gaining insights into the upcoming phase in Iraq. H.E. also stressed having them on schedule and competing on the basis of service-oriented programs, considering that Provincial Councils are service bodies responsible for addressing citizen’s daily needs.
Additionally, H.E. stressed supporting the government and illustrated that supporting it will enhance the stability of Iraq and contribute to deepening Iraq’s interests in regional and global countries. H.E. affirmed the importance of Iraq’s stability as a major contributor to the region's stability and the world as proven by events and experiences.
