Sayyid Al-Hakeem calls to establish National Centre for Citizenship and Peaceful Coexistence

At his second stop during his visit to Diyala governorate, Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met with the Diyala University Council in the presence of Dr. Abdul Mun’im Abbas, President of the University, scientific and administrative assistants, and deans of colleges on Wednesday, 1/3/2023. H.E. had an in-depth look at the efforts of the University, its scientific status, and its ambitious plans for the scientific and administrative fields, calling to establish the National Center for Citizenship and Peaceful Coexistence. H.E. illustrated that Diyala is a miniature Iraq and a link between its north and south and a meeting point between five governorates. It is characterized by geographical and demographic diversity. H.E. reiterated his call for Shia patriotism and the adoption of citizenship as a standard for all members of society, stressing that Iraq is rising and advancing and that there are many indicators of this, including the Gulf Cup 25 and the positive implications thereof, The Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union, which was characterized by its qualitative presence. H.E. indicated that there was a positive reading of the Iraqi reality of those who had recently visited Iraq.
H.E. called on universities to contribute to Iraq's exit from the rentier economy and diversify sources of income by revitalizing the agricultural, industrial, tourism, investment, and technology sectors. H.E. noted Iraq is behind in finding alternatives, while significant oil States made strides in that regard.
H.E. stressed the importance of the independence of universities and granting them broad powers to diversify their sources of income and finance their projects, and the need to support the faculty with regard to land grants and similar rights, emphasizing scientific sobriety and alignment of universities' outputs with the labor market, while stressing the importance expanding but not at the expense of method and quality.
