    Sayyid Al-Hakeem to Basra Governor: Basra’s Success is Iraq’s Success, petrodollar as minimum compensation to be granted to it

    Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, in his office in Baghdad, met the Governor of Basra, Asad Al-Aidani, and discussed with him the city's concerns and rights and the sustainability of construction and preparation for the Gulf Championship 25 on Friday, 4/11/2022. 
    H.E. Stressed the need to prepare to receive the participating teams in the Gulf 25 and the audiences and called upon everyone to support Basra and not only the local government.
    H.E. emphasized the petrodollar and, speaking with the governor, said "It is the least compensation for Basra and its people because of the harm caused by the extraction, refining, and export of oil."
    H.E. also called for the continuation of the construction of the Grand Port of Faw and expressed rejoice at advancements made in the port's infrastructure, noting also the importance of enabling the competencies of Basra and its youth in investment projects.
