Sayyid Al-Hakeem discusses political scene developments, Baghdad-Ottawa bilateral ties with Canadian Ambassador
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, met in his office in Baghdad, with the new Canadian ambassador to Iraq, Mr. Gregory Galligan, 10/4/2022, and exchanged views on developments in political affairs in Iraq and the region. Also, the two sides discussed ways to strengthen bilateral ties between Iraq and Canada to serve the interests of the two countries,
His Eminence said that Iraq is open to everyone and seeks to establish the best relations in accordance with common interests and respect for its sovereignty, calling on everyone to deal with Iraq according to this principle. H.E. also indicated the nature of the variables that Iraq had gone through and illustrated that the transition from dictatorship to democracy wasn’t easy, and Iraq is still paying its tax.
Politically, His Eminence explained the nature of the initiative he launched recently, expressing his belief that it would be able to end the current political impasse if it was dealt with in a positive way.
