Sayyid Al-Hakeem: we are surprised by our team’s match transfer decision outside Iraq, we call on Ministry of Youth & Foreign Affairs to restore Iraqi right
Sayyid Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, expressed regret and astonishment at FIFA and AFC’s decision to transfer our team’s match with the Emirati national team outside Iraq.
His Eminence tweeted on 17/3/2022, “We express our deep regret and astonishment over the decision issued by the FIFA and AFC to transfer the match of our football team and its Emirati brotherly team from the beloved land of Baghdad as a gesture to break the ban that has been imposed for a long time.”
His Eminence illustrated that the pretext of security that the two federations focused on is not objective given that the security is maintained in the capital, Baghdad, and many of our cities. H.E. called upon the Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Iraqi Foreign Ministry to follow up on the issue and restore and establish this Iraqi right and bring joy to our people and sports fans.
