    Remembering Halabja: Sayyid Al-Hakeem calls international community to consider former regime’s crimes as crimes against humanity

    Sayyid Al-Hakeem, head of Al-Hikma National Movement, called on the international community to consider the crimes of the former regime against the Iraqi people as crimes against humanity. On the thirty-fourth anniversary, March 16, 2022.
    His Eminence said, “Thirty-four years and the horrific martyrdom of Halabja is still a flagrant violation of human values and a free conscience that bleeding wound that does not heal, and for the whole world that is the clear evidence of the darkness of a people who suffered from dictatorship and made huge sacrifices and queues of martyrs and wounded on the altar of their freedom and dignity. As we commemorate the memory of this painful crime, urging the international community to consider all the crimes of genocide against Iraqis as crimes against humanity.
