Sayyid Al-Hakeem, head of the National State Powers Alliance, met several political, social, and trade union elites in Diwan Baghdad on Saturday, 19 February 2022, and discussed with them the inspiration of the Iraqi and the developments of the political, social, and service scene.
His Eminence explained that it is natural for us to differ according to our political, religious, sectarian, national, regional, and tribe differences. What we need is to manage the difference and transform it into a source of enrichment, warning against the approach of eliminating privacy under the pretext of expressing national identity, as its abolition leads to feelings of injustice and oppression.
His Eminence stated “What we need is respect for privacy within the framework of the inclusive homeland and allowing everyone to express their identities and affiliations while calling for organizing the relationship between the components as a basic entry point for organizing the Iraqi house.
His Eminence also stated that the recent elections resulted in a lack of balance, which was interpreted by the volume of participation compared to the boycotters. While H.E. stressed the need to search for the reasons for the boycott, and to find the necessary treatments for this phenomenon as a top priority, explaining that the conflict today is not a struggle between the theory of the majority government and consensus, but rather a struggle in resolving the current political status, if it is a narrow or broad majority. The presence of parties in the House of Representatives of all components announcing their non-participation in the government will make the clearest description of the majority as the broad one, recalling that the call for the majority was not a result of today, but was a slogan and program for most political powers in the Coordination Framework CF Also. We were among those who proposed the national majority in the presence of a balance between the majority and the opposition. As societal balance must be taken into account in all steps, for its absence leads to instability, due to the nature of the correlative relationship between balance and stability. H.E. indicated that the solution to the current political crisis requires initiative and political will, and the first is achieved and the second is approaching In light of everyone’s conviction that there are no solutions without understanding and dialogue, noting that some of the positions issued by the tripartite alliance gave the impression to others that the upcoming stage is a stage of defamation and exclusion, calling on the tripartite alliance to share messages of reassurance, and the importance of providing guarantees to the opposition in the right to obtain information and open files away from accusations of personal-drive, as the opposition needs protection just as the loyalty needs it.
His Eminence indicated that the representation of the largest social component is a real fact and does not mean sectarian talk nor sectarian competition. All internal and external conflicts are the result of imbalance, and the formation of the tripartite alliance as presented today indicates the transformation of the largest component to a minority in the government of the majority, stressing the importance of accepting the decisions of The Federal Court, whether it is for or against us, and we cited the position of the CF that congratulated the winners after the court rejected the appeal against the elections, with clear evidence of fraud and manipulation.
His Eminence warned against adopting the language of the majority in formulating the social and political contract and amending the constitution. H.E. said that these crucial issues require the participation of all and not be resolved in the language of the majority, because then we will be facing a bad year that plays with crucial issues in every electoral cycle.
H.E. warned against breaking the philosophy on which the political system in Iraq was built based on partnership and balance, and that adopting the language of parliamentary seats as an absolute electoral fact in determining the national majority will harm the rest of the components, while the largest component has owned the comfortable majority for 18 years, but it did not deal In the language of numbers, the components preserve their rights and representation, and that breaching the political norm will open the door to new equations that will be affected by the rest of the components that adopted the language of numbers and the pure numerical majority.
His Eminence called for agreement on the features and specifications of the person of the Prime Minister, and the adoption of clear criteria in order to get rid of the personalization of positions, and the necessity of dealing with the Iraqi people as an Iraqi nation that unites all the diversity that Iraq contains.
