Sayyid Al-Hakeem Calls to Grant Local Governments Constitutional, Legal Powers
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met with members of the National State Powers' Alliance bloc in local governments and listened to their insights. His Eminence praised the efforts made by local governments during the Arba’een pilgrimage and their support for federal institutions in ensuring the success of this significant event.
H.E. reiterated the call to grant local governments their powers in implementing projects based on the principle of administrative decentralization, which is a constitutional mandate. H.E. also urged provinces to coordinate and work in synergy with state institutions, federal ministries, the provincial council, and the governor to better serve the citizens.
H.E. emphasized the importance of maintaining a service-oriented approach, as local councils are directly connected to the people. H.E. also stressed the need to distinguish between strategic projects and those that meet daily needs, ensuring that both are pursued and completed swiftly.
H.E. called on members of the National State Powers Alliance bloc to engage directly with the public, listen to their needs, and address them as much as possible. He further highlighted that the stability of local governments is integral to the broader political stability in the country, which necessitates preserving and enhancing this stability.
