Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Yazidi Community a Valuable Addition to Iraqi Society Beyond Numbers
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of Al-Hikma National Movement, discussed with Mr. Hazem Bek, the leader of the Yazidis in Iraq and the world, ways to support the Yazidi community in Iraq, facilitate the return of displaced individuals to their homes, and rebuild their cities. The meeting was attended by MP Mahma Khalil, the Vice President of the Christian Endowment, and the Prime Minister’s Advisor for Yazidi Affairs.
His Eminence reiterated that the Yazidi community is a significant addition to Iraqi society, not measured by numbers alone. H.E. called for moving toward managing and harnessing diversity in Iraq to strengthen relations with the peoples of the region and the world. H.E. stressed the importance of implementing agreements and empowering community members to manage their areas and reassure their people, while also calling for unity among the communities and agreement on their shared visions.
