Sayyid Al-Hakeem: De-escalation, Restoring Stability Necessary for Iraq, Region
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers’ Alliance, received at H.E.’s office in Baghdad His Excellency the British Ambassador to Iraq, Irfan Siddiq, and discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them, as well as the situation in the region and the importance of de-escalation and restoring stability.
H.E. explained that Iraq is preparing to celebrate National Sovereignty Day, regarding the end of the International Coalition’s mission as evidence of Iraq’s recovery, and valuing all efforts that contributed to defeating terrorism and restoring and liberating the land.
H.E. also explained the nature of the challenges facing Iraq, noting that the foremost is the economic challenge due to events in the region, and stressing the need to diversify Iraqi oil export outlets, diversify the economy, and increase oil production in line with Iraq’s potential and population size.
