Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Diwaniyah Possesses Agricultural, Tourism, Oil, Industrial Potentials to Qualify for Inclusive Renaissance 

At the press conference of H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, held at the local government headquarters of Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, H.E. affirmed that his visit to the governorate was the fifth in his tour of the governorates, aimed at engaging with elites, tribes, and local governments and listening to them, as well as discussing the country's affairs and developments on the regional file. H.E. called for turning the governorate into the agricultural capital in practice, not merely in slogan, in addition to leveraging its tourism, oil, and industrial potential, noting that this would provide job opportunities if a comprehensive vision were in place. H.E. expressed his happiness at the Iraqi government's attention to Al-Diwaniyah, noting that the country's return to normalcy would positively reflect on Al-Diwaniyah, and expressing his pride in Al-Diwaniyah — its elites, tribes, and dignitaries.
H.E. set sustainable stability as a precondition for development, stating that this is achieved through the strength of the state via combating corruption and consolidating weapons under its authority. H.E. thanked Al-Diwaniyah for its gracious hospitality, and promised to follow up on Al-Diwaniyah's files in Baghdad with the relevant authorities, noting that the international coalition's mission would end by the end of September, and that the government has serious steps underway to consolidate weapons under state authority as its natural right, commending the sacrifices of the factions and the blood shed in confronting ISIS, affirming that the objective behind bearing arms has been achieved, and calling for dialogue and mutual understanding, with the Popular Mobilization Forces designated as the body to which weapons are to be handed over.
H.E. considered regional events a major problem for Iraq and the countries of the region, affirming that the crisis's impact on the global economy could make it a temporary one, and calling for drawing lessons from this crisis by diversifying export outlets through pipelines toward the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, alongside diversifying the economy by activating productive sectors such as agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology.
H.E. stressed the importance of a fully integrated agricultural cycle in Al-Diwaniyah, noting that being the agricultural capital does not mean farming alone, but rather farming, production, storage, marketing, the use of agricultural mechanization, and modern irrigation methods, calling for benefiting from the experiences of other countries in achieving an agricultural renaissance, and stressing the importance of activating the private sector to provide job opportunities and absorb unemployment, stipulating that this requires a different policy approach to achieve the economic objective, which is why the current Prime Minister was chosen for his economic background.
