Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Farmers, Contractors Support Achieves Job Opportunities, Food Security, Economy Activation
From the guesthouse of the Al-Agra' tribe in Al-Diwaniyah Governorate, the guesthouse of Sheikh Maytham Ma'an Mawjid Al-Shalan Al-Gar'awi, H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a gathering of sheikhs and dignitaries of the tribe and the noble tribes of Al-Diwaniyah, recalling the historic relationship between the family of Imam Al-Hakeem (may his soul be sanctified) and Al-Agra' tribe and the noble tribes of Al-Diwaniyah, as well as the historic milestones in modern Iraqi history, and pointing to the paternal role of the religious authority (Marja'iyah) toward Iraq and its enduring positions in defending it and its people.
H.E. called for drawing lessons from past experiences while looking toward the future, pointing to the repercussions of the ongoing war in the region on Iraq, where Iraq's oil exports have declined even as oil represents 94% of Iraq's budget, expressing his confidence in a resolution to the regional crisis, given that the crisis has gone beyond the region's borders and become a global one, and calling for understanding the nature of these events and showing patience in facing the challenges.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the priority of salaries and the rights of farmers and contractors, noting that supporting these groups sustains the Iraqi economy, provides job opportunities, reclaims land, and achieves food security, calling for adopting the five sectors of agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology, and stressing the development of these sectors. H.E. noted that the current Prime Minister was chosen based on his capabilities in confronting the economic challenge and moving away from the rentier state, pointing to the government's reliance in the coming phase on a development-program-based budget and focusing efforts on specific files to bring about a qualitative leap, calling for targeting the poorest governorates, such as Al-Diwaniyah and Salah Al-Din.
