Sayyid Al-Hakeem Urges Investing Kirkuk's Potential, Strengthening Intelligence Efforts Against Terrorism
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, received the Governor of Kirkuk, Mr. Mohammed Samaan, and discussed with him the state of services in the province and the powers of local governments.
H.E. affirmed the importance of delivering services to citizens and attending to districts, sub-districts, and towns, noting that success in Kirkuk is success for Iraq as a whole, as Kirkuk is a microcosm of Iraq, encompassing all of its components.
H.E. stressed the need to pass the provinces law, noting that this law would resolve the difficulties facing local governments and bring them closer to citizens through direct service delivery and quality projects. He called for engaging with qualified figures in Kirkuk from all components, and for investing in its tourism and industrial potential.
Sayyid Al-Hakeem also called for continuing security and intelligence efforts to strike at terrorist strongholds, noting that terrorism has lost the military initiative, which requires striking its hideouts and denying it any chance to regroup.
