Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Supporting Farmers, Contractors Priority Driving Development, Creating Employment
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, spoke at the guesthouse of Mr. Ahmed Al-Sayyid Ashour Al-Zamili, before a large gathering of sadat, sheikhs, and notables of Wasit Governorate, in remarks that blended the authenticity of tribal heritage with depth of political vision.
H.E. opened by recalling the deep historical bonds linking the symbols of the Al-Hakeem family (may Allah sanctify their souls) to Wasit Governorate, its sheikhs, and its notables, paying tribute to the enduring national and human weight the governorate represents.
On the national landscape, H.E. affirmed that Iraq has passed through grave crises — most notably the security crisis that gave rise to a social crisis in which terrorism sought to fragment the components of society and pit them against one another, alongside the political crisis and the fierce contest for power. H.E. affirmed, however, that Iraq has overcome all these crises and emerged from them stronger and more resilient, noting that while the current economic crisis is severe, Iraq is capable of confronting and overcoming it.
H.E. commended the honorable image Iraq has presented through the peaceful transfer of power — a scene that the region and Iraq's own earlier history have lacked — stressing the importance of supporting the government in its reform paths and understanding the economic reality in order to navigate this period.
On the economic front, H.E. stressed the need to think seriously about genuine alternatives for Iraqi oil export outlets, through the construction of a pipeline network extending toward both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, alongside earnest work to diversify the national economy and activate the sectors of agriculture, industry, tourism, investment, and modern technology.
H.E. called for attention to farmers and for treating the disbursement of their financial dues as a priority equal to that of salaries, alongside the preservation of contractors' rights to keep the wheel of projects turning — particularly those with advanced completion rates — so as to sustain development and create employment opportunities.
H.E. renewed the call to work toward easing the atmosphere with the countries of the region and the world, commending the steps taken on the path of consolidating weapons under state authority, and affirming the importance of extending political, media, and relief support to the Iranian and Lebanese peoples.
