Sayyid Al-Hakeem Urges Spiritual, Missionary Readiness to Receive Muharram Month

At the Fifth Conference of the Servants of the Hussaini Pulpit, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, extended his blessings to those present on the auspicious Eid Al-Ghadeer, while at the same time offering condolences on the passing of the Religious Reference Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sheikh Mohammed Ishaq Al-Fayyadh, may his noble soul be sanctified, and called for spiritual and missionary readiness to receive the sacred season of Muharram.

Hussein: The Lamp of Guidance and the Ark of Salvation

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem invoked the noble Prophetic hadith: "Verily, Hussein is the lamp of guidance and the ark of salvation," explaining that true belonging to Hussein (PBUH) shields a person from deviation and protects them from falling into what is forbidden.

H.E. affirmed that silence in the face of injustice is an encouragement to the oppressor and an abandonment of the oppressed, noting that the martyrdom of Hussein (PBUH) stands as the greatest crime in all of history — given the stature of Hussein and the members of his household who were martyred alongside him, the nature of the martyrdom, the brutality of the manner of killing, and the full scope of the calamities that befell them — to the point it has been said: "No day is like your day, O Abu Abdullah."

The Silence That Preceded the Killing

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem explained that it was the silence of the people, their fear, and their emboldening of the oppressor that killed Hussein (PBUH) before the physical killing, and that remorse weighed heavily upon those who participated in the crime through their silence and cowardice.

H.E. noted that the killing of Hussein emboldened oppressors to commit massacres throughout history, affirming that small deviations lead to great collapses, and that major reform movements began with a word, a stance, or a cry — and then changed the course of events.

    Qualities of the Missionary Communicator

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem identified a set of qualities that must be present in the missionary communicator:

    - Closeness to the people, supporting them, and engaging with them with love and affection
    - Reliance upon Allah
    - Fear and reverence of Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, without fearing others when speaking the truth
    - Deep knowledge of religion and familiarity with rulings and historical events through scholars
    - Discernment — meaning the possession of knowledge, clarity, and the ability to distinguish between truth and falsehood
    - Refinement of character, tenderness of heart, humility, and groundedness

    The Iraqi Political Landscape

H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem addressed the latest developments in Iraqi political affairs, calling for the completion of the Iraqi government cabinet, supporting it, and granting it sufficient time, alongside the necessity of clarifying Iraq's economic reality in light of current developments.
