Sayyid Al-Hakeem to Al-Najaf Media Professionals: Share Responsibility to Protect City's Identity
His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers' Alliance, met with a group of media professionals, journalists, and activists in the Holy Najaf Governorate, extending his blessings on the auspicious Eid Al-Ghadeer and affirming that democracy by its nature carries many challenges even in well-established nations, and that lowering expectations renders political tensions a natural occurrence in a democratic country.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem noted the religious and spiritual symbolism of the Holy Najaf and the heightened responsibility it places upon its people to protect the city, its values, customs, and traditions, holding media professionals responsible for defending Najaf and its achievements.
H.E. also addressed the phase of political deadlock Iraq had recently experienced, explaining that the country moved beyond it through the election of the Speaker and the President of the Republic, after which the Coordination Framework proceeded to reach unanimous consensus on Mr. Ali Al-Zaydi.
H.E. Sayyid Al-Hakeem called for diversifying income sources and activating productive sectors, stressing the necessity of moving away from the rentier state and pursuing genuine remedies in industry, agriculture, investment, tourism, and technology, noting that Iraq possesses potential that surpasses many countries. H.E. also stressed the importance of combating corruption by targeting high-profile perpetrators and recovering funds, and commended the selection of a young figure to lead the coming phase.
