The meeting covered the latest developments in the political landscape in Iraq and the region. His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem stressed the need to press ahead with forming the new government and settling upcoming constitutional entitlements, affirming the importance of the government reflecting the will of the Iraqi people across all its components, and placing economic and financial priorities at the top of its agenda.
On the regional front, His Eminence Sayyid Al-Hakeem renewed his call for an end to the war and the restoration of peace across the region, warning of the dangers of further escalation and its consequences for regional and international security, and calling for dialogue to be the path taken in resolving outstanding issues.
