Sayyid Al-Hakeem: Iraq’s Stability Stems from People’s Sacrifices, Chance for Constructive International Cooperation

Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met in Baghdad on the evening of Thursday, October 16, 2025, with His Excellency Mr. Daniel Krüper, Ambassador of Germany to Iraq, as part of His Eminence’s ongoing engagement with diplomatic missions operating in the country. The discussion focused on bilateral relations between Baghdad and Berlin and ways to strengthen them in the interests of both friendly nations.
His Eminence emphasized the importance of Germany as a major global power with a distinguished role in the international arena, as well as its successful experience in overcoming crises and challenges through industrial and technological advancement.
H.E. called for greater participation of German companies in Iraq to take advantage of the country’s vast investment opportunities across various sectors. H.E. also encouraged expanding cultural cooperation through university partnerships and academic exchange programs, along with stronger collaboration between specialized research institutions in both countries.
Highlighting Iraq’s current state of stability, H.E. noted that this situation is neither coincidental nor temporary but rather the outcome of the tremendous efforts and sacrifices made by the Iraqi people in confronting terrorism—defeating it militarily and securing the nation while also eradicating its intellectual and social roots.
H.E. affirmed that this hard-earned stability has positively reflected on Iraq’s political, security, social, and even economic conditions.
