Sayyid Al-Hakeem Stresses Broad Elections Participation to Secure Iraq’s Stable Future
Sayyid Ammar Al-Hakeem, Head of the National State Powers Alliance, met today, Thursday, with Mr. Joshua Harris, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. The meeting included an exchange of views on bilateral relations between Iraq and the United States and ways to strengthen them in a manner that serves the interests of both nations.
His Eminence highlighted the importance of stability as a foundation for enabling the region and its peoples to benefit from their vast resources and economic potential, which ultimately contributes to the prosperity of the entire world. H.E. emphasized that dialogue remains the best approach to resolving outstanding issues among all parties.
H.E. also underscored the need to preserve Iraq’s hard-won stability, achieved through the sacrifices and unity of its people. He explained that the upcoming elections represent a vital step toward achieving lasting stability in the country.
Discussing future challenges, H.E. pointed out that service delivery stands at the forefront of national priorities in the coming stage, noting that essential services—such as water, electricity, healthcare, education, and infrastructure—should form the core of government focus.
H.E. expressed confidence in Iraq’s ability to overcome these challenges, just as it has surmounted even greater ones in the past. H.E. called for broad, active, and conscious participation in the upcoming elections, stressing their importance in shaping Iraq’s future.
H.E. further urged that electoral competition be based on programs and visions rather than division or targeting, noting that true projects begin after the elections and that all political forces will ultimately need one another to prove the seriousness and credibility of their agendas.
